Description
Named for Takashi Amano, who introduced these shrimp into the hobby upon realizing their potential to absolutely destroy algae in an aquarium, these shrimp are great algae eaters for nano and nano planted tanks up to larger tanks depending on their size and type of inhabitants. They will eat any and all kinds of algae including Black Beard Hair Algae!!!
A hardy shrimp that grows to a decently large size and definitely the best algae eating shrimp in the hobby.
They are very difficult to breed and therefore most specimen in the hobby are indeed wild caught.
