Description
One of the most popular corydora in the aquarium hobby is Sterba’s Cory or The Sterbai Cory. This is due to its brightly colored side fins and their black body adorned with a beautiful white spotted pattern.
Sterbai Corys have a venom gland on their barbs as a defense mechanism against predators. It is mostly harmless to humans but has been known to irritate the skin. Care should be taken when handling them, and I say this from experience, a sting can throb for hours causing more than mild discomfort.
